Follow the steps below, if you have a Windows Phone and you wish to transfer your contacts to iPhone. The following tutorial works with phones running Windows 7, 8 or Windows 10 Mobile such as Nokia Lumia and HTC 8XT as well as all iPhone models and iOS versions, including iPhone X and iOS 11.

First sync the Windows Phone contacts to a Microsoft account

  1. Most of you would have already synced their Windows Phone contacts to a Microsoft account such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, or Live.com. If this is the case, skip directly to Step 6.

    Note: If you are currently syncing the Windows Phone contacts to a Gmail account, you can already transfer them to your iPhone by following this tutorial.

  2. If you haven’t yet synced the contacts to a Microsoft account do so now. To sync the contacts to a Microsoft account, open the People app on the Windows Phone, tap “…” at the bottom, then tap “settings”: people app on nokia lumia

  3. Scroll down to “accounts” and tap “add an account”: add cloud account to windows phone

  4. From the next screen select “Microsoft account”, enter your Outlook.com or Hotmail.com email address and password, and tap “sign in”: add microsoft account to nokia lumia

    Note: if you don’t already have an Outlook.com account, you can create one here.

  5. The Windows Phone contacts will be automatically pushed to the newly-created Microsoft account. On the PC, open a web browser window, navigate to login.live.com and sign in with your Microsoft account username and password: Sign in to Outlook

  6. Once in your account, navigate to “People”: Select "People" in Outlook at the bottom

  7. The Windows Phone contacts are loaded up in the address book of your Microsoft account. Check the box next to “Your contacts” to select all contacts at once:Check "Your contacts"

  8. Click “Manage” > “Export Contacts”. Click "Export contacts"

  9. A CSV file containing all the Windows Phone contacts will be downloaded to a PC folder of your choice: .csv file on your PC

Next import the Windows Phone contacts to iPhone

  1. Now it’s time to import the CSV file containing the Windows Phone contacts to the iPhone. For this purpose you need CopyTrans Contacts. Download CopyTrans Contacts on your PC from the following page: Download CopyTrans Contacts

  2. Install the program. If you need help installing CopyTrans Contacts, please refer to this article.

  3. Run CopyTrans Contacts, connect the iPhone to the PC, and click on the “Import contacts” button: Import contacts

  4. From the popup select “From a file”:Import from a file

  5. Navigate to the folder on your PC where you saved the CSV file containing the Windows Phone contacts and click “Open”: Open the folder with your .csv file

  6. The contacts are now imported to the iPhone:Imported contacts  in CopyTrans Contacts
