The steps below demonstrate how to import contacts to Outlook on a PC via using a previously generated CSV file.

  1. In Outlook 2010, navigate to File > Open and click “Import”. In Outlook 2007 and 2003, go to File > Import and Export

  2. Select the “Import from another program or file” option and click “Next” Outlook import wizard begin

  3. Select “Coma Separated Values” and navigate to the folder on your PC which contains the CSV file locate pc folder with CSV file to import to outlook

  4. If your Outlook is in English, just click “Finish” and you are all set! If it is NOT in English please proceed with step 5 below

  5. Before you click “Finish” to import all of the contacts contained within the CSV file to Outlook, you’ll need to map the custom fields first. Otherwise some contact details will not be imported to Outlook

  6. To map custom fields click on the “Map Custom Fields…” button custom field mapping in outlook

  7. Next, drag the values from the source file (*.csv file) on the left to the matching field on the right. You can verify the map custom fields in navigating with “Next >” and “< Previous". Once you make sure all columns from the CSV file are mapped to the desired Outlook address book fields, click "OK" and finally click "Finish". Now, all of the contacts contained within the CSV file are successfully imported to Outlook. csv contacts imported to outlook
