If your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is still using iOS 8 and earlier, the troubleshooter below is for you.

Note for iOS 9 and iOS 10 users:

Starting with iOS 9 and further, Apple has restricted what iPhone and iPad users can do with their apps. Today you are no longer able to back up iPhone and iPad apps to your PC at all. This means that we had to disable the backup of apps in CopyTrans Apps.

How to troubleshoot:

In some cases it may happen that the backup of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch apps is incomplete. This means that certain app files could not be backed up. The following reasons can result in an incomplete backup:

  • Some of the app files are missing and therefore could not be backed up

  • iOS denied CopyTrans Apps access to some app files due to the files being in use or being protected

To sort it out do as follows:

  1. Disconnect the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, close CopyTrans Apps

  2. Start CopyTrans Apps again and re-connect the iDevice

  3. Press the button on the top right of the main program window and select “Settings” access settings in copytrans apps

  4. From the newly-opened Settings window, click “Restart device” newly opened settings window

  5. Keep the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch connected to your PC and stand-by for the Apple logo to appear on the iDevice screen. After that, the device will automatically re-connect with CopyTrans Apps apple logo on iphone screen after restart

  6. Close the Settings window and keep the main CopyTrans Apps window open

  7. Unlock the iPhone with your Passcode

  8. Once the apps load in the main CopyTrans Apps window, retry the backup.
