CopyTrans “Manual Backup” chosen iPod/iPhone tracks to iTunes or folder

CopyTrans “Manual Backup” transfers all chosen tracks, track information, artworks and playlists to iTunes or a folder of your choice. You decide what to transfer. Full control and 100% customizable.


Three easy steps to transfer iPhone music to iTunes

  1. Download and start CopyTrans
  2. Connect your iPod/iPhone to PC
  3. Select “Manual backup”

Note: If “Manual Backup” is not possible, please follow these troubleshooting tips.
If more than one device is connected, please select the correct iPhone from the drop down menu.

All tracks that need to be transferred or updated in iTunes are automatically selected. If you want to take full control and customize every step of the backup process, choose “Folder” in the “Manual Backup” mode.

iTunes track status

To show the detailed status of a track, simply hover your mouse over it.

Explore iPhone content

  1. Use the Categories, Genres, Artists and Albums menus to easily browse your iPhone.
  2. You can search for specific tracks by using the search box.
  3. Click on an iPhone playlist to display its tracks.
  4. Sort tracks in the main list view by clicking on any column name.
  5. Note: Right click a column name to hide or show additional track details.

How will track files be named and organized within the iTunes music folder.

Folder name options:

Decide how folders and subfolders should be generated.

Note: If you want all your track files to end up in a unique folder (no subfolders) set all 3 drop down menus to blank.

File name options:

Customize how each track file should be named.

This will modify the track file names in the iTunes music folder and not their titles in iTunes.import ipod tracks into itunes

To further customize file and folder naming:

  • Select “Advanced”
  • Use the list of “available keywords”

Import iPhone songs with:

Select exactly what track information should be backed-up to iTunes.

Import iPhone playlists:

Defines if CopyTrans should or not backup selected playlists.

Add prefix to playlist name:

Date or assign all playlists to a user (e.g. 11-10-2009 Rock or David Rock).copy ipod music


Start iPhone backup

When satisfied with custom settings return to the “CopyTrans is ready to backup” window and click “Start Backup”.

The “Backup in progress” window will appear and CopyTrans will start copying files. Copy time will depend on how many tracks are selected for backup.

Once all tracks have been copied, a new window will inform you of the backup summary.recover itunes music

All chosen tracks, track information, artworks and playlists are now back in iTunes exactly the way you wanted them to.

Selected tracks are now in the destination folder exactly the way you wanted them to.

At any time, you can import your tracks and playlists into iTunes. To do so, these simple instructions :

Note: Due to iTunes limitations, when using the above mentioned import into iTunes option after a “Backup to Folder”, some track information will not be imported back into iTunes (i.e. Date Added).
