I am using my iPod/iPhone for the first time

If your iPod or iPhone has never been used with iTunes, no library was created on your device. Therefore an error message will appear, stating that there was no library found on your iPod. You can fix this problem by following these simple steps:

  • Connect your iPod with your PC
  • Open iTunes
  • Add a track
  • Synchronize your iPod with it

Now you successfully created a library on your iPod and you can use it with all CopyTrans programs.

If you don’t want to install iTunes on your computer and if you prefer to use CopyTrans Manager to organize your iPod, you can synchronize your iPod on any computer you want (friends, family, colleagues…). CopyTrans programs work independent from iTunes libraries.

I already used my iPod/iPhone with CopyTrans Manager

If you already used your iPod with CopyTrans Manager before you have got the possibility to recover one of your previous iPod libraries with CopyTrans Manager. If you want to do so, please follow these simple steps: Recover your iPod library with CopyTrans Manager.

I already used my iPod, but I never used CopyTrans Manager

Important:If your iPod has already been synchronized with iTunes and the above error message appears even when your iPod/iPhone library exists and is filled (at least with one song), please DO NOT synchronize with iTunes as it may cause a complete data loss. Instead of iTunes we suggest to use CopyTrans Doctor and “search deleted files”. If you want to know more about CopyTrans Doctor please read this user guide.
