Select songs for import to iTunes

If you plan to perform a full backup of your iPod, you can skip the rest of this page and jump directly to the next step: Transfer iPod songs to iTunes.

As you might have guessed, you just need to check the songs or playlists checkboxes to select them for backup.

Hints:

• Double-click on a song to select it
• To select all your iPod songs (full backup), press the A key while holding down the Ctrl key or click with the right button of your mouse on any song and choose Check all.
• To quickly select several songs but not all, hold down the Shift key while you click on songs, and then click with the right button of your mouse and choose "Check".

Note: selecting a playlist for backup automatically selects the songs it contains too, but if you first select all the songs in a playlist, do not forget to also select this playlist in the left panel, otherwise only the songs will be transferred but not the playlist.

You can also use the Artist and Album menus to browse your iPod songs easily. Clicking on the name of an artist or an album displays its songs in the lower list, which is a very convenient way to select them.

The lower list allows you to sort your songs by Name, Artist, Album, etc, by clicking atop the columns. If you wish to display information that do not appear by default, click with the right button of your mouse atop a column and choose the information you wish to add to the list.
